Maybe years ago Mike . You need to read Vegas news more often regarding shootings and other crime on and around the strip.. btw it’s Oct 1 st..
]]>That is in fact, baloney, Las Vegas and Nevada have a zero tolerance for violence at or near casinos, if the notion that Las Vegas is not safe ever takes popular hold, the no state income tax because of gambling would be threatened. The O.J. Simpson case is a perfect example of this in action, many predicted he would skate when he took a gun into a Palace Station hotel room and seized property he felt was his. I told them he was going to jail for years, a hotel room in Las Vegas is somewhere the visitors can expect safety. There are upticks in crime on occasion, and when that happens the police and casinos take corrective actions, visitor safety is priority number one…
]]>I personally do not need a “study” to determine that Las Vegas is the best hotel value in the country, a cursory look at the numbers plus decades of vacations planned and taken tells the tale… Give Captain Obvious a call, he will tell you that room at Venetian or Bellagio would cost more than double in New York or Miami on average. You may feel the study is ‘junk”, but the conclusion of the “study” is sound, accurate, and a hard fact…
]]>Safe, secure and comfortable are not always a given in Vegas . Period.
]]>The entire study is junk.
You point that San Francisco has astronomical hotel rates doesn’t negate the fact that the entire study is junk.
]]>I agree, there is a flawed study, and the $52 rate is bogus. And I agree that Vegas is still a better value than most cities, even without casino comps for rooms. I don’t need a worthless Kayak analysis or a celebratory blog post touting the flawed study to tell me that.
]]>Hahaha so unfair to Las Vegas to compare it to other cities during the same timeframe… No matter what canard or herring you choose to put forth, Las Vegas is absolutely the best hotel value city in the country, even after adding in resort fees. Take that $52, add in $45 for the resort fee, in Las Vegas you will be in a safe, secure, and comfortable hotel. In San Francisco for example, that hundred dollars buys you a spot in a flea bag… This fact has been true for decades…
